According to reports, hackers stole several cryptocurrencies from the billionaire investor Mark Cuban's hacked wallet. The remaining digital assets have been transferred to American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase by the owner of the Dallas Mavericks NBA team, who verified the incident.
Hackers emptied Mark Cuban's Metamask wallet.
Evidently, hackers stole cryptocurrency worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from a hot wallet held by American businessman Mark Cuban. The millionaire acknowledged to the crypto media that he had been attacked.
Blockchain sleuth Wazz (X handle @WazzCrypto) discovered the strange transfer of money from the dormant wallet for the first time on Friday.
Lmao, did Mark Cuban's wallet just get drained?

According to the transaction history of the Metamask wallet identified as 'Mark Cuban 2' on Etherscan, quantities in multiple cryptocurrencies, including stablecoins and tokens, worth a total of $870,000 were drained in a matter of minutes.
Cuban told the cryptocurrency news website DL News that his wallet had been hacked. First time in months, I visited Metamask. He continued, "I'm pretty sure I downloaded a version of Metamask with some shit in it, so they must have been watching. The wallet repeatedly crashed.
Around $2 million worth of USDC were also transferred to a separate wallet in a subsequent transaction. Cuban disclosed that he has given Coinbase Custody the remaining assets. He also claimed to have transferred all of his polygon and locked his non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Opensea. Arkham, a crypto intelligence company, noted:
Mark Cuban’s address “mcuban” was drained for $870K last night.

What some may have missed is that the damage could have been MUCH worse. Cuban had ~$2.5M USDC on Polygon, in the same wallet!
Luckily, he managed to transfer it to Coinbase without the hacker realizing. pic.twitter.com/DVoygYC88f
The cryptocurrency investments made by Mark Cuban have not been without controversy. When the titan stablecoin's value dropped in 2021, he lost money on an investment in the Iron Finance project, which also destroyed his holdings.
Hacks have harmed prominent members of the cryptocurrency community as well. A crypto scam was promoted a few days ago using Vitalik Buterin's account on X, formerly Twitter, which cost the victims of the scam around $690,000. Later, the Ethereum founder acknowledged that he had been the target of a SIM swap attempt.
What do you think about events like the hacking of Buterin's X account and Cuban's crypto wallet? Comment below with your answer and let us know.
