New Documentary Exposes the Turbulent Downfall of FTX and Sam Bankman-Fried

Bloomberg reports that the media company intends to publish an insightful documentary about Sam Bankman-Fried and the startling demise of his once-respected exchange FTX. The release date for the movie, "Ruin: Money, Ego, and Deception at FTX," is set for October 26. It guarantees a thorough investigation into the shocking collapse of FTX, Alameda Research, and the leadership—or lack thereof—behind these failed cryptocurrency businesses.

Soon, screens will be inundated with a wave of cinematic interpretations of Sam Bankman-Fried.

One of the first documentaries exploring the story of Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) and FTX is about to be released by Bloomberg. A focus of this Bloomberg Originals film is the "dramatic downfall of his cryptocurrency enterprise."

The tale explores the demise of the exchange and the present legal controversy surrounding SBF by bringing together Bloomberg journalists and business insiders. The SBF documentary will be released by the media outlet on October 25, 2023, at 6 p.m.

On October 13, a little over two minutes of a trailer also debuted. SBF is facing testimony from erstwhile allies including Caroline Ellison and Gary Wang in his New York trial, which is taking place as this unveiling is taking place.

These ex-colleagues have created a damning picture, stating that SBF ordered them to engage in fraudulent operations and authorized Alameda's mixing of FTX customer cash with its own. In the middle of this media frenzy, "Big Short" author Michael Lewis is actively promoting his most recent book, "Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon."

According to rumors, Apple has already purchased the cinematic and television rights, and studio XTR is reportedly working on FTX and SBF movies as well. Sources further suggest that Vice Media and The Information are pooling their resources to create a cinematic portrayal of the SBF.

However, as the courtroom drama plays out, concerns abound about the accuracy of these representations on TV. SBF might be sentenced to years in prison or walk free while his trial is still pending.

Despite being finished, Lewis's book hasn't been immune from criticism. Particularly controversial was his assertion that FTX "actually had a great real business" on "60 Minutes."

Such claims are in direct conflict with Ellison and Wang's most recent testimony. However, with all of these upcoming biopics, viewers can expect a fast-paced narrative filled with enormous wealth, hedonistic excesses, polyamorous relationships, and layers of deceit.
