Behind the Billions: A Spotlight on Ethereum and Tron’s Leading Tether Wallets
Various blockchain platforms, including Solana, Avalanche, Tezos, and Polkadot, are used by USDT. The majority of this virtual currency is created on Tron and Ethereum, though. According to statistics from the past, as of September 4, 2023, Tron's blockchain was home to over 42.82 billion tether, compared to Ethereum's 39.02 billion.

This shows that 81.84 billion USDT, or more than 98%, of the entire 82.90 billion USDT, is held by ETH and TRX. Currently, 4,555,831 distinct addresses own USDT in its ERC20 format. The top 10 wallets holding ERC20-based USDT collectively control a substantial 21.38% of the total 39.02 billion tether on Ethereum, or around 8.34 billion USDT.
With 2.959 billion tether, the wallet marked "0xF97," a Binance cold storage address, is in charge. With almost 1.220 billion USDT in it, "0x47a," another wallet held by Binance, is close behind. "0xA7A," the third in line, belongs to Bybit and has little over 1 billion bytes. With 708.36 million tokens, the address "Arbitrum One: L1 Arb - Custom Gateway" ranked fourth.
Kucoin owns "0xD62," the fifth-ranked USDT wallet on Ethereum, which is currently holding 552.4 million tether. The sixth-largest bridge, the Polygon Bridge, with the address "0x40e," contains 438.03 million USDT. With 422.61 million USDT in its "0x575" address, the Tether treasury takes sixth place.

The top 10 wallets on the Tron blockchain account for 37.61% of the entire supply, with Binance dominating by holding the top five Tron-based tether wallets. These five vaults control a total of 14.809 billion tethers. With 431.74 million USDT stored, the Tether treasury wallet "TKHu" holds the sixth position. The seventh-largest address, "TTd9q," is managed by Kraken and contains 284.36 million tether.
The eighth-largest Tron USDT wallet, "TRJvQ," which contains 216.44 million tethers, is controlled by an unidentified person or organization. Similar to the eighth wallet, "TNiq9," which contains 212.92 million tether, and the ninth wallet, "TGtgr," which contains 150.10 million USDT, both have unlabeled addresses and are therefore shrouded in mystery.
The 42 billion tether that were created on Tron are split over 29,062,703 different TRX addresses. The top ten holders control a sizeable 37% of the USDT based on TRX. The top 100 wallets are in charge of 44.81% of the total, and the top 500 are in charge of 47.57%.
